About Us.

Originating with the establishment of West Star Laundry 120 years ago, John W. Shelton dedicated himself to upholding values of meticulous garment care, quality, and trust. In the 1950s, John W. Shelton's legacy expanded to San Diego through his son, with the opening of over 40 dry cleaners in San Diego County. Passed down through generations, this legacy reached me, Vaile, John Jr.'s son, and my son, Jordan. 4 Years ago we opened Shelton Cleaners in Downtown San Diego. COVID-19 brought challenges but allowed us to forge strong community bonds and focus on quality. In late 2022, Mike Monaghan, a family friend since I was 12, approached us with a plan to retire. With a promise to maintain our beloved employees and continue with outstanding customer service and quality, we happily expanded our roots into Del Mar. We eagerly await the opportunity to serve you and provide you with expert care and quality.
